What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a discreet, virtually invisible alternative to traditional fixed braces that straightens teeth with clear, custom-made aligners. The treatment corrects many common orthodontic issues such as crowding, gaps and minor bite problems without the need for wires and brackets.

The process orthodontist with a thorough examination of the teeth, gums and jaws. Dr. Joe will then determine if Invisalign is the best solution for you. The next step is a 3D digital scan using the state-of-the-art iTero® impressionless scanner, which provides precise computer imaging of the tooth and gums. This allows us to accurately depict your complete treatment plan – including the initial position of your teeth, the final alignment and the extent of any correction needed.

Advantages of Invisalign: A Discreet Way to Straighten Your Teeth

Next, the Invisalign system uses the iTero® software to create a series of clear aligners that will gradually shift your teeth into the proper position. You will wear each set for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink and clean your teeth. Once your treatment is complete, you will receive a retainer to ensure that your smile stays straight and healthy.

Some patients may experience a lisp or speech impediment when wearing Invisalign, but this usually goes away once they are used to the aligners. Invisalign treatment requires a high level of discipline, as the trays must be worn for 20-22 hours each day. Also, you must remove the trays when playing sports or other activities where they might get knocked loose or broken.

Types of Attic Insulation

Home insulation is a cost-effective way to improve energy efficiency and comfort. It reduces the amount of conditioned air lost through your roof and into the attic, and prevents unwanted heat from entering in the summer. This saves you money on heating and cooling bills year-round. It also helps to keep rooms at a consistent temperature and reduces outside noises.

There are several different types of attic insulation available, including fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, and spray foam. Each type has its own advantages and drawbacks, and a professional can help you determine the best option for your home.

Common Attic Insulation Mistakes – And How Vortex Insulation Avoids Them

Fiberglass batting, or blanket insulation, is typically made from tiny glass fibers. It is available in batts or rolls, and may include an air and vapor barrier on one side to prevent moisture damage. This type of attic insulation is very affordable, easy to install, and can provide an R-value of 2.9-4.3 per inch. However, it does not resist moisture well and can degrade over time. It also may irritate the skin and eyes during installation, and it is the favorite snack of raccoons.

Blown-in or loose-fill insulation is a better choice for existing attics because it can be easily added in any open space with special equipment. It is available in a variety of materials, including cellulose (made from recycled paper), fiberglass, and mineral wool. This type of insulation provides a higher R-value and fills gaps more effectively than other types.
